Team BC Tryouts!
Bantam/PeeWee Boys – District Camp Process:
The BCLA has divided the Province into 4 Districts: Interior, Vancouver Island, Vancouver, Fraser Valley,
for the purpose of Regional tryouts in order to identify athletes in these Districts to compete at a Provincial
Tryout Camp for each age division. The Associations according to District are listed below.
The District Camps are open camps (minimum 30 runners & 4 goaltenders are recommended).
The District Camp tryout dates are set by the District Coaches and usually are a one day, 3-hour tryout. From the District Camp tryouts, up to 15 runners and 2 goaltenders will be selected to compete at the Team BC Provincial Tryout Camp. At the District Camps, coaches and evaluators, in conjunction with the Team BC coaching staff, the BC Lacrosse Coaches Technical Support Group and Regional Coaches, will evaluate the highest skilled players in their District.

District and ultimately attend a Team BC Box Provincial Tryout Camp. PeeWee boys eligible

be allocated accordingly by the Team BC-Box Lacrosse Committee. Athletes selected from all Districts
will be distributed on one of four teams with athletes from other Districts for the Provincial Tryout
Camp. At the conclusion of each Provincial Tryout Camp, a maximum of 18 runners and 2 goalies will be
selected to form “Team BC”.
There is a registration fee of $25.00 per player to attend a District Camp. This fee is to be accompanied with

Attitude of both players and parents plays a huge part at the National Championships
and is considered a primary selection criterion
District Team Coaching staffs will play an integral role in the final team selection and will meet with the
Team BC Head Coach at the completion of every game and event at the Provincial Tryout Camp to
collectively debrief and further rank all players. All Coaches and Evaluators will meet at the conclusion of
the Provincial Tryout Camp and select the final Provincial Team.
Players will be evaluated on all skills i.e.: defence, offence, face-off, teamwork, and work ethic. We are
not here to build a team of strictly goal-scorers—we search for the whole competitive package! The
selection process also considers attitude and respectfulness of the player and their parent(s)/guardian(s).
The final selections will take place at the end of the day on Sunday and all players will be interviewed.
All District Coaches and Evaluators will be involved in the selection of Team BC; however, the final
